FEEL LIKE THIS ABOUT YOUR SCRIPT?WANT TO FEEL MORE LIKE THIS??I can help!

Experienced script reader (6 years+). I've read for literary agents, Scottish Screen, TAPs, Initialize, Brand New Films plus loads of other indie companies and individual producers and writers. I've helped loads of writers: students, amateur and professional!

But don't take my word for it, check out my recommendations.

Here's my price list - I read shorts as well as features! Don't forget, people who come through my blogs or are members of Talent Circle or Shooting People get a minimum of 10% off! Returning clients get great deals too. What's more you NEVER wait long like some places. Just email for more details.

What are you waiting for? Don't tie yourself up in knots with structure, character, dialogue or anything else. I will treat you and your script with respect. I really can help you make your script the best it can be to send out to that initiative, course, contest or other opportunity!

Looking forward to reading your work!

Need a script report on a short film or some development notes on a longer script or feature?

I've not got much going on at present, so here's not one, but TWO special offerS for those of you who need that extra incentive to get some coverage on that all-important script of yours.

SHORT FILM SPECIAL OFFER

My usual deal for shorts is £2 a page for those scripts up to 20 pages with a cap on price at £25 for the longest ones. That's a pretty cool deal, but until April 21st, I am waiving this - if your page is 20 pages or less, then I will read it for just £15! You won't get a better deal than this, I'm sure of it.

But what you will get? I will do you one of my famed "overview reports": that's a 3 page report focusing on my thoughts of your script as a whole, breaking it down into story, characters, dialogue, arena and "misc".

Email me your script or to book a place BEFORE April 21st as I am anticipating a lot of interest in this offer.
--------------------------------------------------------------

DEVELOPMENT NOTES DEAL

My development notes are very popular and usually cost £45, but Shooting People, Talent Circle members and my blog readers get ten per cent off in the usual deal. HOWEVER I can offer writers 15% off before April 21st, meaning these notes are just £38.25 (scripts 100 pages or below, please: if your script is significantly longer, let me know and I'll work out an individual quote for you - would still be a good deal though!). For £38.25 you get a breakdown of two or three problem areas in your script amounting to between 6-8 pages, plus my suggestions and a logline.

Again, email me your script or book a place in my queue today! : )
--------------------------------------------------------------

If neither of those grab your fancy, let me know your requirements - I'm happy to help!

Don't forget to check out my recommendations or my training & experience if you're unsure. I'm NOT one of those vitriolic readers, I promise! I will take good care of your script.

Look forward to reading your work...

With The BSSC just opened and a variety of script competitions about to close, now's a great time to get coverage on that short, treatment or feature you've been neglecting!

I do two main services at Bang2write, the first is The Overview Report which is 3-4 page report with my thoughts on Story, Characters, Dialogue, Arena and "Misc". Here's what Ian had to say about one I did for him recently:

"Thanks for your overview, food for thought: yours is the first critique of this work that I've had done... This will help me cut out some unneccesary dross anfd polish up one or two areas."
Ian McKay

My most popular service is still my development notes however. For this you get a logline, plus 6-8 pages of in-depth notes identifying areas where your script needs work:

"Thanks for the development notes, they were very helpful. They definitely reinforced what I believed my strengths and weaknesses were."
Adam Laurence

But don't forget: if neither of those "grab your fancy", email for a personal quote!

Don't forget Bang2write reads shorts, proposals - anything! And you get 10% off if you're a member of Talent Circle, Shooting People or find me through Write Here, Write Now!

Need a recommendation before you part with your hard-earned cash? Don't take my word for it that I can help, hear what these Bang2writers have to say:

"Hi Lucy and thanks for getting that report back to me so quickly! You're a bit bloody good ain't you ;) Pretty much backed up my feelings... and sorted out a couple niggles I'd been having, but didn't have the confidence to trust my own gut." MJ, who had an Overview Report on her work, where I give insight on story, character, dialogue, arena and "misc" in an approx 3 page report.

"Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your fabulous notes! They've really opened up new, clearer ways of thinking about(my script) and all I want it to achieve. All the references and explanations were spot on and I'm really looking forward to rewriting with your constructive points in mind." Jonathan, who had a set of my ever-popular Development Notes, which consists of 6-8 pages of in-depth breakdown on your script, plus a logline.

"Thanks for the notes, some brilliant points, and you've drawn my attention to stuff no one else has mentioned. And you're right!!! Cool. :)" Eleanor, who as part of my "Development Notes Plus" package had a combo of an Overview and Dev Notes, which is increasing in popularity as Scribes want me to give them my POV on their script as "broad" as possible, then I break down the bigger issues.

Remember, blog readers, Shooters and members of Talent Circle get a minimum of 10% off! Email today.

Well it's nearly Christmas so many of you out in www.land will be working on those scripts during the holidays, so good luck!

But January is a dour month with not much going on, so why not get some coverage? Believe it or not I already have a waiting list of people wanting me to do development notes the minute I get back from my holiday! I'm not complaining either -but if you want coverage BEFORE February comes round, my advice is to reserve your place now. (You needn't send any money or the script yet either).

If you want further info and a recommendation to aid your decision however, here you are some from people I've read for in the last six weeks or so:

The marvellous Caroline says:

I found your notes helpful. Particularly on the structure I think I get what you're saying and it makes sense. It's great that you link back to articles and stuff on your blog. I find that really helpful.

The lovely David Anderson says:

Thank you... For the best, the most encouraging, the most intelligent and the most downright useful coverage I’ve ever had. Your development notes for [my script] show you to be a thorough-going professional – fast and highly conscientious.

I’ve had scripts covered in the past by [other places] and I have never had anything as finely detailed or as helpful as this. You’ve done more than give me your impressions and pointed out the faults... You’ve actually shown me how to write a better script. It’s like having a smarter collaborator! And you can quote me on that.

In addition, Chip deconstructs some notes I did for him on his fantastic (not to mention saucy) blog here.

Thanks guys! Whatever you want, I can do it - as long as it involves a script, reading and no nudey stuff. Obviously. Email me! Bang2write"at"aol"dot"com. Don't forget there are more regular updates, tips and chat over at Write Here, Write Now, The official Bang2write Blog. Drop by and have a virtual mince pie.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

CONTESTS!

If it's been ages since I posted on this blog, that's because The Bang2write Script Reading Service has been going from strength to strength!

Bang2write has long lauded contests as a good way to motivate writers to get projects finished, but we're now pleased to announce huge successes for Bang2write clients, including:

- Numerous qualifiers in The British Short Screenplay Competition from the first round through to the semi finals

- Two finalists in The Red Planet Prize

- A winner in this year's PAGE awards

Now of course Bang2write can't take the credit for these guys' great ideas or talent, but by working with them, these successful clients could be sure when they sent their entries off that their work was the best it could possibly be. Other previous clients included those doing well in Bluecat and two other finalists in this year's PAGE awards. Result!

But don't take my word for it. Check out Martin's blog. Or Laura's. Or David's, Elinor's or Andrew's!

If you have a contest entry you want to polish up before sending it, let Bang2write know!!

SHORT FILM TARIFF

Due to popular demand, Bang2write now officially reads and offers Overview reports on Short Films!

Focusing on story, characters, dialogue, arena and "misc", this 3 page report will help you focus on what needs developing in your short before you shoot and/or submit it to schemes, competitions or producers.

The Price? Just £2 a page, with £25 top rate for those scripts up to and including 30 pages. You are also welcome to submit the first ten pages of a screenplay on this tariff (for competitions, "trial runs" etc) as well as proposals, treatments and short stories.

I think this is a stellar deal - for scripts longer than 30 pages, please see our price list for details of coverage that may suit your requirements.

If you want development notes on your short, treatment, proposal etc (as opposed to an Overview Report), please email for more details and a quote.

Finally: don't forget Bang2write's official tips and networking blog is updated regularly here and you can find the best round-up of free articles on the web by various authors here.

Look forward to hearing your work!

Bang2writers are spreading throughout The Scribosphere!

Check out these great blogs that have sprung up in the last few months - I've read for all these people:

Elinor, my Metlab script editing client at London Metropolitan University's initiative last year.

Andrew, who has a beard and has added my name as an actual label on his blog! (Thanks Andrew).

And Chip, who is committing "career suicide" apparently with his rather audacious blog Unfit For Print! Great Fun.

And finally, don't forget mine - we're talking about the much maligned and misunderstood structure this week. Enjoy!
